Don't need to attend church as long as I believe in God

Is it true that if I believe in God, I don't have to go to church for worship?
It's the relationship between God and I. Church is just a building for everyone to gather. As long as in my heart I believe in God, I am saved. Right or wrong? -

The church serves as a meeting place for believers. It's not good to be alone in believing. We need fellow believers for support.

believe in God and attending church goes hand in hand. church in the actual context means an assembly of christians. therefore the term church does not mean a physical building. it is true that you can dont go to church and yet believe in Christ....church membership play absolutely no role in your redemption but solely based on the finished work of Christ on the cross.
then why church attendance? take a run thru the Book of Acts, you will discover that the early christians often met up in homes, pray and break bread. well...that itself is a church. for mutual accountability, edification, support and encouragement as a community.

Look at the cross. It is made up a vertical plank, and a horizontal plank. The vertical plank is an indication of our relationship with God. The horizontal plank is an indication of our relationship with others, not only with the people around us, but also to that in the church around us.
And don't forget what God has said.
"You shall keep the holy day Sabbath."
What better way to do that by going to church to worhip him? -

read pslams 23, 84 to find out what god says about the church.
in church, you will find strong spiritual friends who will uphold you. such tt when you're feeling spiritually down, the will have the faith in god for you to pull you through. unless you are really mature enough to be able to stand on your own, i do recommend you a local church.
you may also want to read purpose driven life to enhance your understandin of the church.
its not a question of right or wrong. its a matter of what the church can do to your spiritual health. -
i was formerly from city harvest, being there for last august to this april, quit b'cos i find it controversy, about sun (singer) & benny hinn "healing crusade". they all took much trouble to stop me quitting that church (or "church", i don't know?). i had not and initially told my peer in chc to give me some time for baptism (or as they said to offically known as christian, into my ic card, my identity etc), (reject baptism when they said after i was in chc for just few weeks), as of now still free-thinker. where can i go? i mean a proper church to begin.... thanks.

There are alot of pretty girls in the Church leh !
Actually Church serves... not just to worship god but also for communal bonding.. I heard of pple attending church with ulterior agenda.. such as insurance agent , housing agent.. and clasically buaya like myself ....
Anyway I have not gone to church for afore mentioned purpose ... As I believe if god is your heart you just practise his teaching... that good enough.... as I do not agreed with the practices of most churches that we need to contribute 10 % of our income... at the beginning of the sermon , the pastor would tell us how cash strap the church is .. running at a loss .. they need more fund to finance the loan for development etc etc...
If you notice Churches building are getting more state of the art ...with air con .. auditorium... facilities .. well all these are waste of $$$$.. I believe we there for spiritual needs not that how nice how well built the church is -
Isn't the 10% tithes mentioned in the Bilble also? On the issue on going to churches, while there is not teaching in Scripture that talks about going to a physical building, there are strong implications in the Bible that Christians should gather together for the purpose of worship, edification and fellowship.
I sure hope you did not have any negative experience in some churches that had resulted in you having this opinion on churches. I am thinking that 80% of the churches in Singapore is not like that.
