When was Jesus born

  The traditional date is of course 0AD, but i read from somewhere the new date is 4BC.

  Even theologians and historicans cannot pinpoint accurately since the gospel isn't very clear on this.
  
  I think it is clear Jesus wasn't born in the year 0, if you realize who and how they arrive at the zero point.

  because if he was, then 0AD would only be after he was born, which would mean that christmas really should be New Years DAy, since 0AD only starts AFTER he is born.
  
  oh well, the whole AD BC system is just human's way of keeping time using certain significant events as a time marker. accuracy may be off.

  nobody knows for sure. When do u think santa claus's birthday is ? Which year do u think cinderella is born ? They can only guess from the desciption in their stories.
  
  BTW 25th Dec is chosen because it is the date of a past popular pagan occasion or something. Might as well celebrate christmas on a day people will be celebrating...
