i feel someone who exalts himself would be erm. like, the focus is on him. its like he may heal someone with the power of the Holy Spirit, and he will be like "yea, look at me! i healed someone" while someone who gives a testimony will focus on God. and give God the glory for the healing, i think u can tell from the fruits of the deed.Originally posted by laurence82:Excuses.
Someone says it right, people who who exalt themselves shall be humbled, and those who humble himself, shall be exalted.
thanks for your feedback on us. You perceive. I accept.Originally posted by laurence82:Its already stupid enuff when one explicitly name another belief, thats akin to putting down another religion, especially in this example. Am I the one who start putting down others first?
U dont have to point out that I am not humble or anything. I aint those dandy fake righteous or moralistic people. Its only when someone question my beliefs and attack my interest than I will react. In this case, what dumbdumb trying to prove by putting tang kees and holy spirit in the same equation? If u say he is not attacking other people belief implicitly, i wont bother replyin this thread, coz i will be spending the next half hour ROFLMAO just like i did for many threads in this forums that belittle other religions on the sly. I admire u all for your cunning, if not for your faith to God.
Exactly Christian like. I rather u not brush it off as presumption, but examine what i said. Denial aint the way...Originally posted by gasband:thanks for your feedback on us. You perceive. I accept.
shrugs. i'm pointing out that even non believers acknowledges the power of the Holy Spirit. they really don't touch baptised christians. if you (a christian) go to a tang kee. and tells them u're a christian. they will ask you if you are baptised. if you say you are, they ask you to leave, and say they cannot do anything for you. its true!Originally posted by laurence82:Its already stupid enuff when one explicitly name another belief, thats akin to putting down another religion, especially in this example. well. speak for yourself. you don't know my heart when i said what i said. i did not speak what i say with the purpose of kicking down others. i said it to point out my point. that even non believers acknowledge the existance and power of the Holy Spirit, so its not easy for someone to simply commit the unpardonable sin.Originally posted by laurence82:Exactly Christian like. The focus need not be on him as a person or someone else as two separate issues, but his beliefs, his character..basically everything that centres around him..just like "Hey I study in NTU, therefore I am smart". The focus on NTU being a representative of his academic capability.Originally posted by dumbdumb!:i feel someone who exalts himself would be erm. like, the focus is on him. its like he may heal someone with the power of the Holy Spirit, and he will be like "yea, look at me! i healed someone" while someone who gives a testimony will focus on God. and give God the glory for the healing, i think u can tell from the fruits of the deed.
Nope. Its not the intention I am searching for. Basically I dont care whether you are faithful or just trying to be funny, I am more concerned what are the consequences of your actions and thoughts, which you have expressed directly. And yes, in my opinion, such action you display just now is really dumb. Think thru your mouth, not you arse, before you do or say anything.Originally posted by dumbdumb!:well. speak for yourself. you don't know my heart when i said what i said. i did not speak what i say with the purpose of kicking down others. i said it to point out my point. that even non believers acknowledge the existance and power of the Holy Spirit, so its not easy for someone to simply commit the unpardonable sin.
funny how u simply jump into the wrong conclusion yet explain that i did it with the intention of putting others down.
exactly. its a grey area. which makes it hard to say who is right and who is wrong. i don't feel you are wrong, neither do i feel what i said was wrong. if i say that science has proven that earth is not million of years old, which has already been proven, all the scientists would come and say that i am putting them and their research down, and i'm insulting their work. so am i right or am i wrong when i speak this truth?Originally posted by laurence82:The focus need not be on him as a person or someone else as two separate issues, but his beliefs, his character..basically everything that centres around him..just like "Hey I study in NTU, therefore I am smart". of course you must focus on god in your actions and thoughts, but be aware whether exalting your religion tangles up with looking down on others...that is when the much need humility comes in..hard to explain this grey area...
Who says its about ur own personal belief people will care about? Its good that you turn your path towards god, but just be mindful of every action and speech u make.Originally posted by dumbdumb!:and i'm not blind enough to say that christianity is perfect or anything. trust me, it isn't perfect, cause the people are screw ups. i've tasted that myself. but i've also figure out that it is the truth, and God really do love me, even if christians don't. that's my discovery. don't believe if you don't. if you can figure out a reason not to believe than believe, then don't. shrugs
then freaking stop for a moment to think what u gonna say, esp if u noe this is a grey area. The world aint just Christians alone for you to speak up something against chinese mediums as and when and how u like it.Originally posted by dumbdumb!:exactly. its a grey area. which makes it hard to say who is right and who is wrong. i don't feel you are wrong, neither do i feel what i said was wrong. if i say that science has proven that earth is not million of years old, which has already been proven, all the scientists would come and say that i am putting them and their research down, and i'm insulting their work. so am i right or am i wrong when i speak this truth?
sometimes when truth is spoken. some people will get insulted. why do you think the 12 diciples of Jesus were sentenced horrible deaths?
so u're really mindful of what you said? you're so sure that whatever you said is 100% right? have you judged my thoughts and character so well to say that i am dumb?Originally posted by laurence82:Who says its about ur own personal belief people will care about? just because i don't speak for them doesn't mean i speak against them. like i said above. did i attack their character? did i say they are bad people, or cheats, or disabled or stupid? i simply did not speak for them, nor defended them. but i DID NOT speak against them. instead I SPOKE UP FOR God and pointed out the Holy Spirit. the focus WASN'T about me. the FOCUS WAS ON GOD.Originally posted by laurence82:then freaking stop for a moment to think what u gonna say, esp if u noe this is a grey area. and what are the consequences of you calling me dumb? are your intentions better than mine? my intention was to point out the existance of the Holy Spirit. what was your intention for calling me dumb? was it something worth applauding?Originally posted by laurence82:u dont read newspapers dont u?
Rem the incident about one guy who barge into the church and riled against church members who parked their cars at his gate, blocking his house?
The action where he barge into the church is already considered an act of besmirching other religion. Do u think whether they realli care his real intention is just merely pissed off at some people who blocked his residence, and that he is not really against Christians at all?
That act alone is considered as one unlawful act, no matter his intention. Which is why I am harping on the consequences of the stuff u just said, not your bloody true intention.
Then go read my thread in AA bout saying sorry to people.Originally posted by dumbdumb!:don't tell me how to speak or how "not to insult others" when you can't do it yourself.
and i respect something about Neon. that he recognise the very basic dignity of humanity. that each human has rights and dignity. he apologised when he insulted others. which is pretty much more than i can say for certain others.
funny. i don't remember the world revolving around you and what you perceive as "alright" and "not alright".Originally posted by laurence82:Then go read my thread in AA bout saying sorry to people.
Need not to pit me against him, because its under me to question moral, dignity and such mundane stuff..i can call someone stupid, or cunning, but its really even beyond psychologists to second guess human intention or thoughts..
I am onli more interested in action reactions and and what are the consequences of each event.
Its all right for peeps to label me or give me some names, because playing on someone feelings by trying to poke his emotions and his ego, is really irrelevant to teh discussion at hand...
please dont belittle the consequences of ur own actions..people like you will contribute significantly to any events around us or the society....Originally posted by dumbdumb!:and what are the consequences of you calling me dumb? are your intentions better than mine? my intention was to point out the existance of the Holy Spirit. what was your intention for calling me dumb? was it something worth applauding?
and i didn't do anything unlawful like breaking into a church or firebombing a temple. i simply did not speak up for tang kees. i just stated a fact. that they don't meddle with the Holy Spirit. i do not see anything "dumb" in that sentence. i did not put them down, or said they were inferior in character. did you?
ok, lets see what is the direct implication of what i said.Originally posted by laurence82:please dont belittle the consequences of ur own actions..people like you will contribute significantly to any events around us or the society....
I cant see anything dumb in my actions too..how would u like it when someone say that to u too?
Are u an adult anyway? Dont keep harping on intentions, whereas I am examining the direction implications of ur own actions. Besides, does it have to take a firebombing of a church for someone's act to be considered wrong? Nay, sometimes they say the pen is mightier than the sword...
Tell that to the law, since its the law which judge both the church barging guys and anthony ler..unless u wish to says the laws of God surpasses the law of the land..i wanna see u say that on the street...the "person" u mention who says it not allright is the court, and in my eyes, onli the law of the courts holds..and i aint speaking what i think is allright, like that i dont have to quote the church barging incident and what the law think...so dont go ard this "the world is revolving around me" thingie..Originally posted by dumbdumb!:funny. i don't remember the world revolving around you and what you perceive as "alright" and "not alright".
antony ler felts it was alright to murder his wife and get kids to do his dirty work, he was smirking on his way out, for whatever reasons he has to smirk. but i've a funny feeling everyone else thought it wasn't "alright"
Yup, its a rather dumb reference (do i have to repeat this?) to chinese tang kee whose concept of god and holy scriptures is different from urs. Non believers especially atheists do not believe in a supreme being, a holy spirit, or even the bibles. Try not (i noe its impossible for u ) to link the whole bloody world of people of other faiths to ur version of god and holy spirit. and then talks about how other people cannot see.Originally posted by dumbdumb!:ok, lets see what is the direct implication of what i said.
i said that even mediums and non believers believe in the existance and power of the Holy Spirit, when encountering Him for themselves, leads to reptentance and acceptance of salvation. even mediums believe in the Holy Spirit, and do not try to meddle with Him, and even acknowledge God's power is mightier than their own.
what is the direct implication of what i said?
ok. what was the direct implication of what you said? calling me dumb?
i don't retract what i said, since they acknowledge it themselves.Originally posted by laurence82:Tell that to the law, since its the law which judge both the church barging guys and anthony ler..unless u wish to says the laws of God surpasses the law of the land..i wanna see u say that on the street...the "person" u mention who says it not allright is the court, and in my eyes, onli the law of the courts holds..and i aint speaking what i think is allright, like that i dont have to quote the church barging incident and what the law think...so dont go ard this "the world is revolving around me" thingie..
Look kid, i got all the time to play with you, in fact, i can be here 24/7 if u like.
Simple, retract that stupid remarks u made on chinese tang kee and i will let the matter rest, else I can argue this the whole day..
