another realplayer problem

realplayer will not load whenever i try playing .ram files
the cursor would only change into a sand-glass cursor then it's back to the arrow-shaped cursor
reinstalling realplayer still gives the same problem
here is what i get when trying to unistall it:

hmmm, though i not as gd as ditzy, but i propose dat maybe the uninstaller.ini/isu is missing dats why the uninstaller.exe cannot function cos all the 'instructions' for uninstaller.exe is not there. in order to solve the problem, u just delete the whole folder. reinstall a new version then un-install cos when u install, it will put the .isu/.ini inside liao.Originally posted by b3nd d0wn:realplayer will not load whenever i try playing .ram files

hope it helps u in the un-installation. for the playing of .ram file, u could manually open real.exe, open the .ram file or 'make' RM the default player for .ram files.
Also, u need to reboot immediately after installing RM, dat time i didn't reboot, tried playing a .ra file but cannot, reboot liao then can... -

Basically, ur .dll files are screwed, so don't bother playing another .ram file till u fix it.
It doesn't allow u to uninstall coz the install log's been screwed or missing. So you have to go to the programs folder and seek out the realplayer folder and delete the folder straight. In this case, the folder should be in the name "Real", delete the folder and all its contents. If it doesn't allow u to delete everything without some warning that tells u something is running, alt-crtl del and view ur running processes, identify what looks something like realplayer and stop it, then try deleting again.
Once ur done with the above, do a full reinstall of realplayer or follow thhong's thread in which I gave some instructions for another alternative player. If all else fails, restart the computer then reinstall. And best, get into safe mode to do the uninstall step i mentioned earlier minus the alt-crtl del thingie. -

If u can't delete somefiles although u have EndTasked real.exe, it might be one of the files below, depending on ur version
1) C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe
2) C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\evntsvc.exe -

try Realone Player, the one with Helix if u can. uninstall ur older version. the version works in 98 SE, i used it when i using 98 SE, now using XP still using it.Originally posted by thhong22: -
