i thought usually gold plated kits are connected differently to the runner? so that it wont look so bad if u dun paint it.Originally posted by jetabt767400:I not sure how you guys are going to do it, but according to some modelling ppl, its very tricky when it comes to chrome and gold coating, so some ppl do this:
1. Submerge the entire runner (parts attached) into bleach (or for some hard core ppl, brake fluid which ya know is extremly poisonous) to remove the gold paint/chrome.
2. Take out and wash with water, dry.
3. Spray entire runner with gold color from an airbrush or spray can.
4. Apply gloss coat, and proceed with assembly.
This might be protocol to some hardcore modellers (really no joke, ya can aske Caleb's Toy at Sunshine, they do this), but we have our own ways huh, me not so many time to prepare solution and repaint it...
Have fun!
mind if i ask...Originally posted by duotiga83:i find oowashi pack nicer than Shirani pack....but want them both to do the pose dont like 1 dangling doing nothing.....
yup... the connected part are usually hidden on the side where u connect parts with other parts. so that when cutting parts from the runner, u wont ruin the gold coating. the setback is the filing of the part, i got some problems on joining in between because of incomplete filing. in the end i seperate all parts out again and file again.Originally posted by totohum:i thought usually gold plated kits are connected differently to the runner? so that it wont look so bad if u dun paint it.
