Some mecha tidbits:

* The Ahead is indeed based on the Human Reform League development line. Apparently, after the world's military forces were unified, the Federation adopted the Union's command structure and the HRL's development system.
* The Susanoo, therefore, represents a form of revenge for the Union and its long-neglected technological legacy. The fins that surround the GN Drive on its back actually form the Union symbol - subtle, Billy!
* Apparently, going into Trans-Am mode pretty much ruins a GN Drive Tau. Thus, every time Graham takes his machine into Trans-Am, he has no choice but to return to base immediately afterwards.
* Ali's Arche Gundam is a hybrid of Alejandro's Throne series and the Innovator machines.
Less definitively sourced is this other blog post which sums up various background tidbits from other sources such as the novels. I'm not sure how much stock we should put in this info, but from a mecha standpoint, I note the comment that "since Trans-Am is a technology that, for a certain period, releases a large volume of particles stored in the condensors, it works okay even without a solar reactor."
Does this mean that you can use Trans-Am even on a machine that's powered by GN condensors? (And also, am I misremembering, or did they do just that with the Ptolemaios 2 in a recent episode?) If so, then perhaps all those disposable suicide-bomber Gagas are just condensor-powered machines, like the GN Archer. I'd hate to think that they wasted hundreds of actual GN Drives in that massive salvo.
