True, sometimes christians fall into the trap of being too legalistic and looking at the splint in others eyes and not seeing the plank in their own eyes.Originally posted by M©+square:christian very boring lor....
Then always talk about their own stuff.
Christians also got gossip alot. Sometimes more then others.![]()
ya i know why some christians are afraid of them, some irritated by them, many have negative feelings towards them. But well, lets just all show some grace and love towards them, all of us are humans, we make mistakes but the greatest part is when Jesus says He will always love you. Hmm so my sista (my assumption) here are a few verses for you that God still wants you and loves you while you are trying to learn how to become the person God wants you to be:Originally posted by *evanesence*:Im a christain but Im afraid of people from City Harvest (you all should know why) ..
I think Im getting further away from GOD...
I keep on sinning... haiz...![]()

Hmm i have to say i strongly advocate christians to go out and share our faith. However, i do understand how you feel cos some christians are too aggressive and keep preaching and not understanding your needs.
Basically, we are just wanting to share something which we have found and is good. But of course along the way, some will become too 'PREACHY' and push it down others throats. I for one wun do that cos I use to hate christians and so i wouldnt want others to hate me now hahaha...
so well i apologise on behalf of other christians but well next time you see them just tell them nicely that you appreciate if they will listen what you have to say too.
hmmm, these people you tok abt...do some of them u saw are ang mohs and wear white shirts and very neat and wear name tags?Originally posted by daniuge:i dunno who lah, but they can actually sit down beside you on the mrt and start tokking. too friendly liao, cannot tahan![]()
I will agree that there are pharisees in our faith. Some are too legalistic. Of course that doesnt change who my God is. These people will in due time received God;s discipline and GOd willing, they will find the truth and the truth will set them free.Originally posted by the Bear:What I like about the true faithful is that they are peaceful and intrinsically good people. But then, there are many to be found like that who are of other faiths.
What I do not like about some of them are that they will, and I mean WILL, force their religious views on others... even to the converted and the faithful. Everything to them is either "God's will" or "Satan's evil".. these people take no responsibility for their actions... everything they do is attributed to God or Satan. If I do something they do not like, I am "doing Satan's work" and when I coincidentally do something they approve, it's "God's blessings".
When I tell them that they have committed the blasphemy of "Taking God's Name in vain", I am to be treated as some kind of evil pariah.
Maybe, in biblical terms, these self-professed "Christians" have become the Pharisees (what do Pharisees do for a living then??) that Jesus rebuked for their hypocrisy.
I think this is the most serious problem in any organised religion.

well, God is in control. I have seen it happen too but as i believe, God is in control of every situation. If that person decides to turn away from the christian faith, there is no one who feels more grief than God Himself. Lets just do our part and be gracious to all because afterall we received grace from God when we dun deserve it.Originally posted by the Bear:I know so.. because ultimately, He is our judge.
What is so disturbing is that they will piss off people who may be have an interest in finding out what the faith is about. They will see these people ranting and putting everyone and everything down and be put off, vowing never to come close to the Church again.
I have seen this happen.
And people will see these loud, obnoxious and irritating people first because their behaviour commands a lot of attention. People will figure that these are representative of the faith and stay away.
I think many who have turned away from the Church will know what I'm saying.
I have not lost my faith... but thanks to these self-righteous idiots, I nearly walked out.

That's calledOriginally posted by the Bear:Will you be one of those who will push people away because of your obnoxious behaviour?
The best evangelisation is done without going to people, without telling people with words.
By living a good life like what Jesus taught, will inevitably bring you the peace and joy everyone seeks. When people see you happy and at peace, they will want to know.. and that is when they will come to you... and to God.
