Actually CCL the mistake is longer coverage at Pasir Panjang…
149th press freedom in the world, you believe meh?
Many people say transport fares might go up soon.
Both SBST and SMRT have registered losses in Million Dollars. If companies have to stand on its own, they have to increase fares or increase ridership (conversion from private cars, trains, taxi to buses). Or they have to rely on government subsidy. Rule of business that they can't go on forever registering losses and not do anything about it. How to survive like that?

Can list the redundant bus Svc?I know RWS8 is one of them,Actually Those NR can be amended too.Should start from heartland looping at City/Entertaining areas rather than going 1 big round.Timing should start from 00.15-0345 for long routes and 00.00-0315 for short routes

I dont think 93 is redundant. S275 is redundant.

1. The ones with the "best" transport system are also amongst the "sinners" who make losses. High tax or high public transport cost?
2. SBST registered a loss for last year. But that's a small blip in their otherwise ok record of blacks.

Some successful public transport systems charge a huge fee to commuters. In the US, there is NO good public transport. In UK, each ride is fucking expensive. In Paris, you have a flat rate of 1.7 Euro i.e +2 SGD, if you even want to take one stop on the bus. In Zurich / Geneva, there are efficient tram systems and very few buses in operations.
To top all this, most of the public transport here also get government incentives. I think Singapore has one of the best and most efficient public transport system (of course SMRT can do a better job).
For any business, you need to keep evolving. Same goes for buses - you cannot keep the same routes for years. You have to introduce new ones, modify existing routes, add capacity, work on converting more commuters to buses with providing better services.
Also, in a country like Singapore one bus change should not be an issue, especially when we are stressing on QoS of less than 10 mins. Okay to wait for next bus for few minutes. You can't have it all. Again, this is from a business point of view. If the companies want to be self-sustaining without government funding.
Take route 155 for instance. It loops at Circuit road / Mattar and comes back the same distance and then goes to Geylang East Central. Who in the right mind will take this bus at Upper Aljunied to Paya Lebar when there is a 135 to do it.
The looping at Circuit road not only increases time, distance but there is hardly anyone who takes this service. Rather just have 155 to operate from Siglap looping at Circuit road, rather than go all the way to Toa Payoh. Instead, 135 can be routed to Toa Payoh to cover the missing link from 155. 100 will be there for Serangoon. If someone want to go to AMK, multiple change options available at Serangoon.
This is just one option. When you think there could be other alternatives. But change is inevitable if you want things to work. Look at Facebook, even it keeps changing its layout every few months. It is the game of life!! :)
why fix something that is not broken in the first place?

some of BSEP service had horrible frequency
2-3 806 buses while waiting for a 860.
a major loss is when a system is so inefficient, too many buses with too little pax, buses with more than 80% full at 85% of the time, buses cannot clear the load at bus stops, major bus transfer points, major bus hubs, bus interchanges and boarding terminals.

They need bendies / DDs for 860, and it should have 8 buses and not 6.

3014B, 3015Z, 3016X, 3017T, 3018R, 3019M, 3029J
there are 7 buses on 860
probably, 1 missing bus which is either 3013D or 3020H that does cameo or split - AM and/or PM peak
and i do hope SMRT put one or two bendies
inb4A24on860
didn't the SMRT make over $100million per year in post-tax profits for the past decade?
what's $12million in losses?
peanuts i say
and for you bus freaks who quibble over whatever buses the asshole companies are using, fuck that.. the gabrament just threw $1.1billion of TAXPAYER money at them to buy buses..
so what the hell happened to the profits?
total rojak ...
dam ...
