U agree? think as a woman, i must say marrying out of love is ideal....
but not possible for so many. i seen so many of my friends who are still single....
im a guy. marrying means staying together for a long time. i believe we should marry our best friend whom we are attracted to. there don't need to be love, just need to not drive each other crazy and able to satisfy our desire.
i believe it is easier to find a best friend than a soulmate to the extend it is not realistic to look for and expect to find soulmate in a reasonable timeframe.
no one should marry out of need. i don't see how is it better to marry out of need than not marrying at all. anyone marrying out of need may end up living with a stranger, whom they used to know, for the rest of their lives. best case scenerio is they treat each other like a stranger but look at our grand parents who are together because of arranged marriage. our grandparents hate each other at some levels because if things went their nature course, they might not be best friends or even friends.
Of course guys regardless of which countries is marry out of love if they meet the right girl!
needs 70%
Love 30%

I think it is also common for many couples to marry because they have been together for some time liao or already used to each other. I think as long as they are open and honest with each other, and can find common values with each other, no reason why they should not marry if they WANT.
I don't believe in marrying for NEED. Because forever is a long time, and what if the person's needs change or your needs change?
Marrying for LOVE is also not right i believe. Because it depends on how you define LOVE. Is it the feelings or the actions? If you marry for feelings of love, what happen if the feelings fade?
Marriage is a lifelong commitment - marry someone who has similar values as you, care and respect you and vice versa.
I'm sure there are cases where people get married out of convenience like money, stability or even simply because they want a cheaper HDB. But there have been many friends that I know who marry because they want to make the commitment to spend the rest of their lives together. It really depends on the couple.
For couples who have been dating for long it may seem as just a progressive step but marriage isn't just a one off decision. It is 50% love, 50% commitment into making things work and keeping the love alive.

The fear of being alone can be daunting, but everyone should put themselves in the shoes of the other person and ask if this would be fair to your future husband or wife.
