      CANTONA fears for United’s future

ERIC CANTONA fears for Manchester United’s future after Alex Ferguson retires.

The Old Trafford legend believes the United boss is all that is keeping things together at the moment.

The unpopular Glazer takeover plunged the club into £600million of debt and ticket prices keep rising.

Cantona said: “I can under-stand why the fans are concerned. The philosophy of the club will never change while Alex Ferguson is at the club. After he leaves . . . that’s what makes me worry.

“Ferguson is so strong, so popular, he can control everything. For the moment nothing has changed there — apart from in an economic way.

“I’m worried about the future. I hope that things will not change.”

    • Let's have ohh ahh Cantona as manager. I would love for him to be Man Utd manager and he will definitely be able to keep the egos of the players in check especially since he is The King.

    • Yeah balls Fergie should have appointed Cantona as Asst Manager and groomed him to be his successor.... Looking at things currently, i have a strong feeling it may be Keano though.

    • The day Mourinho becomes the Man United manager, would be the start of a great tragedy for the club. Cos apart from bringing his defensive and boring style of football, he would also create so much trouble with I don't know who really but can say almost anyone or everyone with the way he behave...

I think Roman and some Chelsea fans must be happy now that he is no longer with them... Their club have seen an improve in opinion of them and also no longer as hated across the whole world as compare to when Jose was their manager.

All I can say is... I rather they can't win the EPL title than have Jose in charge of the club. If Jose really becomes the man... We could see years of footballing heritage of a great club go down the drain in a very short time...

    • RK without a doubt... remember before he retired there was all that talk about him taking over from fergie? I reckon he was told to go get some managerial experience cos something tells me they won't hire someone who's only ever been an assistant to lead the biggest club in the world. Aside from RK, Quieroz I suppose - afterall Fergie credited him with last seasons victories. No way would we have Mourinho though... not if there's an ounce of sense left in the boardroom.

Yeah I agree with this pick too...

The only thing is he is running on a very low budget currently at Villa... He would be good for United. Also play good attacking style of football...

Keane not a good choice, the guy is becoming like mourinho, another loose cannon. Recently attacked his own Sunderland fans too when results are not going his way...

Mark Hughes also not bad... Lets see if he can make it at City first or not, if he can, then get him... lol

well, Martin O'Neil is a good choice no doubt, but I doubt his european credentials. I think he did not do so well while at celtic.

Given the glacers and the big debt,a question mark hangs over whether they need instant success or whether they can wait..

so to me, they may want to go for someone who can bring in success fast.

      just my two cents.
