hmm.. let's juz say money is not a factor.

i juz wna noe roughly how much it would cost for the whole thing
done up

With everything nicely beefed up, it will be around $6,000.
Maybe our little Pillow could come over and give you a detailed
breakdown for this (he always have this nitrogen-cooled system in
mind), or you may want to check out some of the SLS pricelists
online to do your own research.

http://pricewatch.vr-zone.com/previewpricelist.php

You'll need to consider the following components:

CPU

Motherboard

Power supply unit (PSU)

Casing

RAM

Hard disk drive / solid state drive

Optical drive

Graphics card

Sound card

LCD monitor

Speakers

Other peripherals (eg. keyboard, mouse)

Network devices (eg. modems, routers)

Backup power supply

Operating system (eg. Linux, Windows)

Since it's more towards playing games & entertainment, then
you might need to splash a bit for the graphic...

Take mine for example:

Intel C2D E7300 2.66Ghz

Gigabyte EP43-D3SL

Kingston 2Gb 800Mhz ram

Seagate 320Gb

Coolermaster xtreme power 460W

Casing + Vista Home Premium

+ ATI 4850 under $1k...

If budget is no problem then put a bit more into sound
department lor...

End of the day you can get quite a good one for under 1.5k + ur
speaker & Flat display...

But warranty is either component warranty or provided
by the shop u brought it from...

Might wanna wait for window 7 if u want... or get a quad core or
i7

SENSE…It makes no SENSE to me that a
one-year-old product broke down just at the nick after the warranty
period and to make thing worst, it cannot be repaired as PHILIPS do
not stock the parts for repair.

<span style=

SIMPLICITY…Yes, it is really simple for
them to say “NO” to a customer. This is one of the worst customer
services I have received in Singapore.

On 10th Dec 2008, I have sent my
DVD Micro Theater RTH718 for repair (Job Number: 841880). It was
just after warranty period as I bought it 1 year ago at Philips
Annual Sale (9th Sep 2007). Such a sophisticated high
quality product broke down just after 1 year, unbelievable. Since
it was not under warranty, I have to pay a sum of SG$30 service fee
for checking and quotation.

One week has passed and I received a
shocking phone call from Philips telling me that my expensive
product cannot be repaired as Philips does not have the
part/component anymore for the repair for this model.

First, getting back to customer took 1
whole week is really unacceptable. Most IT or Electronics Company
will only take 3 days to get back to customer. Secondly, Philips
does not stock part/component for model that was bought just one
year ago, this is really ridiculous.

I have requested a solution from Philips
and was told that they will get back to me. Another week passed but no reply from Philips. I
have to called up Philips CUSTOMER CARE hotline on 23rd
Dec 2008 which again telling me that they will reply to me. Not a
single telephone ring from Philips till 26th Dec 2008
which I have to make a personal trip to the service center.
Wondering what type of “CARE” Philips is claiming.

The only way of compensation that Philips
can offer is asking me to buy another set of sound system at staff
price. Would I dare to buy another
Philips product again when Philips do not even stock up their
parts? This product that I bought is not a cheap set like those
“Made in China” which I only get to enjoy it for only 1 short
year.

I was so disappointed with Philips dealing
that I took my unrepairable Philips product without considering
buying another unreliable Philips product.

Thank you for your time in reading my mail
and you can be sure that I will do my utmost best to tell my
friends, public and even media about the wonderful features of my
Philips product.

My dealing with Philips has been one of
nothing but pure frustration. I will no longer look at Philips for
any future purchase and I will not recommend my friends or any of
my relative to buy this brand.

In conclusion, Poor Customer Service and
Unreliable Product

<span style=

I was surfing internet the first time on my mobile.
When I was connected, immediately there was the advertisement by
funmobile. I did not click anything on it to
download to subscribe. Next I received a SMS from
funmobile that I am subscribed to the Polytone club of
funmobile.

I called up funmobile and they kept insisting that I have
downloaded to subscribe which I did not. The guy from
funmobile said they are going to charge me. It is
infuriating for me, I did not subscribe and yet they are going to
bill me. This is purely cheating.

Singaporeans are avid users of the Internet, research company
Nielsen has confirmed in a poll of 500 online users last
September.

It's part of a larger global consumer survey to assess the level
of technology ownership and consumption habits.

Nearly three quarters of local respondents say they have
accessed more than 20 video games online in the past month.

Movie clips, music videos and TV shows are equally popular -
about half of the respondents say they've each consumed more than
20 of these media content in the past month.

The figures for downloaded content is even higher.

At least three-quarters of the respondents say they've each
downloaded more than 20 times content like video games, movie
trailers and music videos.

The high adoption rate of mobile phones, widespread use of
public transport and easy access of wireless broadband all
contribute to the high rate of mobile entertainment consumption,
the Nielsen report noted.

Compared with 52 other countries worldwide, Singapore is the
11th highest for media consumption.
