    • Nets

Because no need to top up NETs!

Cashcard is troublesome because it can only carry a limited value whereas NETs you are able to use as long as you have money in your bank account

    • None of the above

      I like cash

But if you really want me to choose I prefer to use Nets coz Cashcard need to top up and the one I have is expired and since I hardly use it, I can't be bothered to change it

    • Nets...save the hassle to top up cash card. unless the cashcard becomes creditable. But now Nets may have to pay charges for some transcations eg. 4D, Toto

But I would give preferance to credit instead

    • wats a cashcard....??

i oni have a debit card. which i never use when paying for stuff.

so i always have to pay by cash...><

besides, you can't spend THAT much at a fast food place/food court....so i don't think cash is too inconvenient...?

      Convenience, I guess....

I like eftpos when you can do a cash out even when you buy something small .. then no need to go ATM ..

    • NETS.

Cashcard needs to be topped up regularly. Very troublesome.

I only use the cashcard when I'm using the photocopier machines.

    • okie .. I'm asking, as part of a client's solution proposal .....

for those who chose nets, why nets ? .... I mean, the transaction is a lot slower isn't it ? .... key in the pin and all that ? ....

so the thing against cash card, is that you have to keep topping up  ? ....

Not really, but NETS is now too expensive for merchants and its makes no sense for them to implement it. Many shops have stopped accepting NETS. Some will make the customers cover the NETS surcharge if they insist on using it.

So as a customer it also makes no sense to use NETS. at least credit cards you get points or discounts. ditto for debit cards, which go through the same payment system.

    • yes you're right, nets is expensive ..... credit card is a lot cheaper for merchants ....

but then nets and cash card are run by the same company .... that's why I'm polling them together ...

Oh yeah.... for my custom-made PC, the shopkeeper insisted that I pay in cash even though he had a NETS terminal.

Simply put.... 1.9% of $1360 is no small potatoes to the shopkeeper....

Oh I see...  We must have been so spoilt over here in Oz.... I think the shops and the bank must have a deal....

    • yeah. so even if you do not want, or can't get a credit card, it makes more sense today to get a debit card which can be used as an atm card. rather than a nets card.
